Scranton, PA – The Lackawanna Women's Soccer team traveled south to Maryland on Thursday to take on Montgomery College in an afternoon match-up. The Lady Falcons jumped out to a quick lead in the first half, with both Ashley Bruno and Rachel Apsley scoring goals to give Lackawanna an early 2-0 lead. Bruno and Apsley were both assisted by Alexa Smith, who continues her strong play for Lackawanna this season. After 45 minutes of play, Lackawanna College would take the 2-0 into the half. As the 2nd half began, Montgomery College dominated the time of possession and scored 5 unanswered goals. Those 5 goals would be enough to defeat Lackawanna College 5-2.
The Lady Falcons fall to 3-7 on the year and were scheduled to return to action on Saturday to face the County College of Morris. However, CC of Morris has had to forfeit the game. Lackawanna will now be back in action on Sunday October 13th when then face Essex County College at 1:00pm. The game will be played in Scranton, PA at Scranton Prep Loyola Field.
