(Scranton, PA) – Lackawanna College and Region XIX are proud to announce that Briaunna McCullough, Kyla Smith, Talek Williams, and Keyon Faulkner-Smith have all been named to the 2018-19 All-Region 1st Team.
Briaunna McCullough is in her Freshman year and comes to Lackawanna College from Harrisburg, PA. She averaged 11.7 points per game, and recorded a season high 22 points against Monroe College on January 24th. McCullough also played well defensively, she totaled 62 steals on the season. Briaunna scored 10 points against Harcum College during the Region XIX Semi-Final, which helped propel the Lady Falcons to the championship game as well as a spot in the District Tournament held on March 9th and 10th. McCullough was also named 2018-19 EPAC Women's Basketball DII Player of the Year.
Kyla Smith is in her Freshman year and lives in Easton, PA. This season Kyla helped the Lady Falcons to a 24-6 (14-3) record. Smith led the Lady Falcons in three-pointers, recording 53 over the course of the season. Averaging 10.4 points per game, Smith's season high was 22 points against SUNY Sullivan on January 26th. Kyla will be looking to have a repeat performance as the Lady Falcons take on SUNY Sullivan in the first round of the District Tournament this upcoming weekend.

Talek Williams is a Sophomore this season and resides in Allentown, PA. Talek averaged 21.7 points per game. He scored a season high 51 points against ASA College on January 10th, which helped him claim the honor of NJCAA DII Player of the Week. That week he recorded 75 points, 20 total rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals over the course of 2 games. Williams scored 14 points in the Region XIX Basketball Championship this past weekend. He was also credited with 7 total rebounds and 1 steal in the loss to CC of Morris. Talek Williams was also named 2018-19 EPAC Men's Basketball DII Player of the Year.
Keyon Faulkner-Smith is a Sophomore from Staten Island, NY. He helped Lackawanna reach an 19-12 (10-4) record and played 24 games this season, averaging 15.3 points. He also played the glass well, bringing in 139 total rebounds on the season. One of Keyon's most impressive games came when he recorded a Double-Double against Bucks County CC on January 15th. He would score a team high 22 points and grab 10 total rebounds as well as 2 steals and 2 blocks.

Lackawanna College would like to congratulate Briaunna McCullough, Kyla Smith, Talek Williams, and Keyon Faulkner-Smith again for being named to 2018-19 Region XIX All-Region 1st Team. The Lady Falcons will continue their season on Saturday March 9th as they take on SUNY Sullivan at 12pm. If the Lady Falcons win they will advance to the District Championship on Sunday and automatically clinch a spot in the NJCAA DII National Tournament.
