(Scranton, PA) – The Lady Falcons played a home double-header against Herkimer College on Sunday afternoon. Lackawanna lost their first game 14-3 and lost their second game 10-3. Lackawanna's record dropped to 21-12.
The long ball was a major factor in game 1; both teams hit 3 homers apiece. Colleen Cwalina crushed a homerun to left-center to start off the scoring for the Lady Falcons in the bottom of the first. Lackawanna gave up 2 runs to Herkimer in the top of the 2nd but answered back in the same inning with another home run. Jordan Skoff hit a shot to center to make the score 2-2. Unfortunately for Lackawanna, Herkimer scored 7 runs over the next 2 innings which included a 3-run homer. Lackawanna scored their last run of the game in the bottom of the 4th on a solo homerun by Alexandria Thoman. Lackawanna gave up 5 runs in the 6th and lost 14-3. The losing pitcher was Marlena Pegula. She pitched 5 innings, gave up 7 hits and 10 earned runs.

Herkimer scored first in the 3rd inning on a 3-run homerun. Lackawanna retaliated with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the 4th. Alexandria Thoman hit a 3-run homer to center field. The Lady Falcons kept it close till the last inning but they gave up 6 runs in the 7th. Herkimer won 10-3. The losing pitcher was Mia Pawelski. She gave up 9 hits and 5 earned runs.

It will be a short turn around for the Lady Falcons as they will play again on Tuesday April 9th on the road against Raritan Valley CC. First pitch for the double-header will be at 3:30pm.
