Falcons’ Record remains Unblemished

Scranton, PA: Lackawanna's football record remained unblemished as the Falcons used an extremely effective running attack and stout defense to shutout Erie Community College 83-0.

The Falcons scored seven of their touchdowns on the ground with Matt Cavallaro starting the scoring on a quarterback sneak. Also contributing rushing TDS were Marques DeShields with two runs of nine yards and both Kareem Hall and Calvin Bell with identical scoring sprints of three and thirty yards. Overall the team rushed for three hundred eighty-nine yards on forty-five attempts

Despite its rushing prowess, Lackawanna did not completely give up on their passing and kicking game. Matt Cavallaro threw touchdown passes of thirty-one yards to Norval Black and ten yards to Sameer Parks; while Carmen Ceccotti had field goals of twenty-nine and thirty-five yards.

Defensively, Lackawanna held Erie to twenty-seven yards on thirty-eight rushes and fifty-eight yards on twenty-seven attempts. They also recorded five sacks and two interceptions. In addition, they contributed to the the team's scoring efforts with a fumble recovery in the Erie end zone by Dwanye Grantham and a seventy yard pass interception return for touchdown by Robert Kennedy.

Lackawanna plays again next Saturday when they travel to New York, New York to play Northeast Football Conference rival ASA College. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
