(Scranton, PA) – Former Lackawanna Football player and West Virginia Mountaineer, Trevon Wesco was drafted by the New York Jets in the 4th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Congratulations to Trevon on this tremendous accomplishment.
Trevon Wesco played 5 games for Lackawanna College during the 2014-15 season. He played tight end for the Falcons and finished the season with 5 receptions and 47 yards. Trevon's season was cut short due to an injury. He was ranked as the #3 JUCO Tight End nationally by ESPN. Wesco redshirted the following season and then transferred to West Virginia University to play in his Sophomore Year.
During Trevon Wesco's senior year, he was named to the All-Big 12 First Team. He finished with 26 receptions, 366 yards, and 1 Touchdown during the 2018 NCAA season. His longest reception was 43 yards against Oklahoma State. Wesco helped lead the West Virginia Mountaineers to an 8-4 record during the 2018 season. The Mountaineers finished their season by facing Syracuse in the Camping World Bowl in Orlando, Florida. Syracuse took the victory 34-18.
On April 27th 2019, Trevon Wesco was drafted by the New York Jets. Wesco taken in the 4th round of the NFL Draft as the 121st pick.
