Lackawanna Ends Season with Doubleheader Loss

The Lackawanna College Softball team completed its regular season with a doubleheader loss to conference foe, Del Tech Stanton. The Lady Falcons fell 5-2 in the first game and 8-4 in the night cap.

Lackawanna College Falls to Mercer County CC in a Wednesday Afternoon Doubleheader

Lackawanna's softball team fell to Mercer County Community College twice in a conference doubleheader played Wednesday afternoon at Sherwood Park. The Lady Falcons fell in the first game 11-8 in extra innings. That game was extended into extra innings when Lackawanna's potential winning run was tagged out at home in the bottom of the seventh inning. They fell in the second game 7-5 and by doing so were eliminated from the Region XIX Division II Softball Tournament. A win in either of Wednesday's contests would have kept them in the running for a playoff spot.

Lackawanna improved their Region XIX Division record to 4-6 with a doubleheader sweep of Salem Community College. The Lady Falcons took the first game by a 12-4 score and finished the sweep with a 16-2 victory in the night cap.
