(Middletown, NY) – Lackawanna College Softball traveled to SUNY Orange on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Falcons won game one 10-3 and won game two 10-5. These wins extended Lackawanna's win streak to 6 games and their record to 15-6.
The Lady Falcons jumped out to an electric start in the 1st inning of game 1. Alexandria Thoman doubled on a line drive to left field scoring Mia Pawelski and Amanda Mowry hit a 3-run homer to center field. Lackawanna led 5-0. SUNY Orange added 2 runs through 3 innings. Lackawanna's next score would come in the top of the 4th as Gabrielle Vuocolo singled to left field for an RBI. The Lady Falcons added 2 runs in the 5th thanks to Vanessa Wolf and Lexis Chapman. Lackawanna put up 2 more runs in the top of the 6th on RBI singles by Gabrielle Vuocolo and Jordan Skoff. Lady Falcons won 10-3. The winning pitcher was Amanda Mowry. She pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 earned run.
Gabrielle Vuocolo: 3-4, 2 RBI, 2 R
Game 2 saw Lackawanna score all of their runs in the top of the 2nd. They managed to first score on a Vanessa Wolf fly ball to center which scored Colleen Cwalina and Marina Pegula. Amaya Townsend stepped up 2 batters later to hit a double to center, scoring 2 more runs. Mia Pawelski hit a 2-RBI single, Courtney Hoffman hit a sacrifice fly, Vanessa Wolf hit a 2-RBI single, and Leizel Schlott finished the assault with a line drive to left for 1 more run. The Lady Falcons led 10-0. Lackawanna gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th but held on for the victory, 10-5. The winning pitcher was Mia Pawelski, she went 4 innings and gave up 2 hits and no earned runs.
Vanessa Wolf: 3-4, 4 RBI, 1 R
