Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College softball team dropped both games of its Region XIX Division II doubleheader against Delaware Technical Community College. The Lady Falcons were shut out 8-0 in the opener and then fell to Del Tech 7-3 in the second game.
In game two, the Falcons' bats came alive as they took a 4-0 lead in the first inning only to see Del Tech bounce back with a run in the second and six in the fourth to take a lead a 7-5 lead that Lackawanna could not overcome. Four Lady Falcons had multi-hit games. Emily Duffy led the group with a single and double in four at bats; Moriah Lynn, and Kacey Orlowski had two singles in four visits to the plate; while, Sierra Mulgrew contributed two singles in three plate appearances. Orlowski suffered the loss, her first of the season.
Lackawanna plays again on Tuesday, when they are scheduled to play a road twin-bill at Orange County Community. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
