Lackawanna Golfer's Ready for 2011 Season

The Lackawanna Falcon Men's Golf Team just returned from its yearly training trip. The weeklong trip included structured practices, clinics, inter-squad scrimmages and 8 rounds of golf in Pinehurst, North Carolina and Davidsonville, Maryland.

This year's team is looking to rebuild after all six of last season's golfers moved onto Division I and III schools. The team will be looking for immediate contribution from incoming freshman Frank Kacvinsky, of Mid Valley High School and Frank Roche, who transferred from the Golf Academy of San Diego, Orlando, Florida. Dustin Barton, Susquehanna High School, is also expected to compete for the #1 spot. Rounding out the squad are two Valley View High School graduates, Dalton Milam and Shane McGarr.

Lloyd is back for his fifth season as the as the head golf coach. . Justin Alunni, assistant PGA Golf Professional at Glen Oak C.C., will be returning for his third year as Lloyd's assistant and the team's swing coach.

Under the Lloyd's tutelage, the Falcons have won five consecutive PA-Delaware Cup championships; compiled a conference record of 114-28-1; and qualified for the NJCAA Division II Nationals three times.

The golf team's next match is the Bergen Invitational, March 28th at Valley Brook Golf Course, Blackwood, New Jersey.
