Golf Team Looks to Bounce Back in 2010

The 2010 Lackawanna College Men's Golf team, coming off a disappointing season in 2009, is looking to again be among the top teams in NJCAA Region 19.

The Falcons return three starters from last season, Penn Manor High School’s Win Aukamp, as well as Matt Lyons and Bobby Reed from Holy Cross High School.

The team will be looking for immediate contribution from incoming freshman Cody Brown, of Tunkhannock High School and Lucas Olivas, who transferred from the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California.

Transfer student Kevin MacDonald, of Pinecrest, North Carolina should make the biggest impact. MacDonald will give the team a solid player with tons of tournament experience.

Men's head golf coach Patrick Lloyd said, “we have a nice mix of freshmen and sophomore golfers, I think we will be extremely competitive in a conference loaded with talent." “We have two or three golfers with the ability to compete for conference player of the year.”

Coach Lloyd is back for his fourth season with the Falcons golf team. Justin Alunni, assistant Golf Professional at Glen Oak C.C., will be returning for his second season as assistant golf coach and swing coach.

The Falcons coming off their fourth consecutive PA-Delaware Cup championship have a record of record of 72-27-1, qualifying for nationals twice, under current coach Patrick Lloyd. Lackawanna College will begin their season in Pinehurst, N.C. before it’s first Region 19 GSAC tournament on April 5th at Deerwood Country Club, Westhampton N.J.
