In his first year as Lackawanna Men's Basketball coach. Coach
Archer brings a winning track record to the Falcons program. As an
assistant Coach Archer has managed to compile a record of 61-27.
While as an assistant coach archer has had the opportunity to Coach
two NJCAA All Americans over the course of three years.
The formula for Coach Archer's success will be recruiting
skilled athletes as well as students who stay focused on
graduating. As a result the Falcons will win and provide
entertainment for their fans.
Prior to being named Head coach, Coach Archer was an Assistant
at Lackawanna College for the past three seasons. Coach Archer also
served as a Video Coordinator from 2007-2008 for Rice University.
In 2006-2007 Coach Archer served as the graduate assistant at Texas
Southern University.
Coach Archer also has experience at the secondary level in
physical education and in private basketball instruction.
A native of Trinity, TX, Archer was a leading scorer for the
Trinity High School Tigers, earning a position on the TSWA
all-state squad. A graduate of Texas Southern University, Archer
holds both an M.S. and bachelor's degree in Human
Performance.

In just a short amount of time LaVon Barnes has made quite a
name for himself in basketball. Barnes, who has coached on the AAU,
High School, Junior College, Division 1, and Professional level. He
started his coaching career as a student-assistant coach while
attending Campbell University.
After graduating, Coach Barnes took a high school job as the
JV Head and Associate Head Coach (2004-06) to one of the premier
high school powerhouses in the state of Maryland Eleanor Roosevelt
High School, where they played in 2 state championship games. There
he coached 12 Division 1 basketball players including Darnell
Dodson (Kentucky), and Lasan Kromah (George Washington). He was
also a coach with the famous DC Assault AAU basketball team which
had the likes of Michael Beasley (Minnesota Timberwolves, Nolan
Smith (Duke), and Austin Freeman (Georgetown).
After his 2 year stint at the high school level, Coach Barnes
set his sites on the Division 1 level where he accepted an
assistant coach position at Prairie View A&M University
(2006-2008) where he was 2nd youngest assistant coach in the
country and helped recruit the 35th best recruiting class in the
country and also recruited eventual SWAC Newcomer of the Year Brian
Ezeh, and SWAC Player of the Year Darnell Hugee.
Barnes eventually took the Associate Head Coaching job at
Cedar Valley College. After a short stint at Cedar Valley College,
Coach Barnes accepted the Head Coaching position for the
Jacksonville Admirals of the United States Basketball Association
making him the youngest coach in the league with the likes of Tree
Rollins and other former Head Division 1 coaches.
Coach Barnes is currently the Head Coach of the SW Elite AAU
team out of Dallas, TX where in just 2 years have become one of the
hottest programs in the state. He has worked numerous college
basketball camps around the United States and has also worked
internationally with Five Star Basketball in China and
Australia
