Lackawanna Men Win in Overtime

In a contest, in which there were fifteen lead changes, Lackawanna College men's basketball team won a key conference game over Salem Community College by an overtime score of 100-91. The Falcons' win was spurred by a bench who outscored their opponent's bench 36-4. Key to the bench's performance was the play of Javon White. Entering the game as the team's sixth man, White scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, eight of which came on defense.

Others contributing to the victory were Deandre Albritton with 19 points and 9 assists; Vincent Roux with 17 points; 15 of which came from beyond the three point line; Antione Hackman with 16 points 6 assists and 8 rebounds; and De'Vaughn Jones with  8 points and 9 rebounds.

Thursday's win was important to the Falcons because they now need to win only three of their remaining six games to clinch a spot in the Region XIX Division II Men's Basketball Tournament; three of those contests being at home. The win left the Falcons with a win loss record of 5-5 in conference and 6-11 overall.

Lackawanna plays again on Thursday when it travels to West Windsor, New Jersey, to play Mercer County Community College. Thursday's game is scheduled for 7:00 PM. It will be the second meeting this season between these Region XIX opponents; last November, Lackawanna beat the Vikings by a score of 87-51.
