(Scranton, PA) - The NJCAA has announced its All Americans for the recently completed 2018 football season. Lackawanna College's Jaquan Brisker was amongst those receiving the honor.
Named to the First Team All-American Defense, Jaquan Brisker is a resident of Monroeville, PA and graduated from Gateway High School. Brisker recorded 53 solo tackles and 11 assists during the 2018 season. He also found tremendous success establishing pressure, logging 9 sacks and one fumble recovery for a touchdown.
Brisker was an instrumental part of Lackawanna's historic 11-0 season. He achieved a NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week award for his efforts during the last game of the regular season as well. Recording 7 solo tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 tackles for a loss, Jaquan helped Lackawanna to a 30-15 win over Georgia Military College. Brisker was also awarded the Defensive Player of the Game Award during the 2018 El Toro Bowl. He registered 7 tackles and 1 sack to help lift Lackawanna to a 17-10 post-season victory over Arizona Western.
Jaquan Brisker will be continuing his collegiate career at Penn State next season, inside the Big 10 Conference.
"Brisker is the most dynamic defensive player in the country. His ability to be versatile while rushing the passer and play the run makes him a unique individual. Jaquan's skill set is off the chart and he is so deserving of being named an All American." – Head Coach Mark Duda
