Lackawanna beats Hocking

Scranton, PA - The Lackawanna College Football team used four consecutive first half scoring drives to secure a 35-12 Homecoming win over Hocking College. The win improved their win/loss record to 6-1 and keeps them in contention for a bowl game invitation.

Lackawanna's initial score was set up in the first quarter when a Daymon Anderson interception put them on the Hocking 26 yard line. On the subsequent drive, an Eric Finney 25 yard run and Jo-El Shaw's one-yard plunge put the Falcons' first points on the scoreboard. Lackawanna then scored on a 5-yard pass by Michael Dare to Travis Crummy on their next drive and on a 10-yard pass from Dare to Navon Prince on the following possession. The Falcons completed their first half scoring the next time they touched the ball, when Jawan Green returned a Kickoff 67 yards for a score.

Hocking scored twice in the second period on passes of 63 yards and 41 yards to put 12 points on the board. However, that was all the Hawks could tally before Lackawanna's defense shut them down for the rest of the contest.

The Falcons added insurance points late in the third quarter when Dare threw his third TD pass of the day, an 18 yard strike to Kyren Best.
