Lackawanna College Hosts NJCAA Northeast District Championship Series
By winning the Region XIX Division II Baseball Championship, Lackawanna College earned the right to host the NJCAA Northeast District Championship. This best of three series pits the Region XX champion, Fredrick Community College, versus the Falcons. The series commences Friday, May 21st, at PNC Field, Moosic, Pennsylvania.
On that day, the teams will play a doubleheader with the first game starting at 12:00 noon. The second game will follow at 3:00 pm. If neither team sweeps the twin-bill, a championship game will be played Saturday, May 22nd at 12:00 noon. That contest will also be played at PNC Field.
Presently, Fredrick is ranked 2nd nationally in the most recent NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll. Lackawanna is ranked 9th in that same poll.
The winner of this series will advance to the NJCAA Division II Baseball National Championship being held at David Allen Memorial Stadium, Enid, Oklahoma. The national tournament commences Saturday, May 29th.
