Falcons Win Region XIX Baseball Championship

Lackawanna College clinched the Region XIX Division II Baseball Championship Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 victory over Burlington CC in a contest played on the campus of Del Tech Owens, Georgetown, Delaware.

Jon Wilson led the Falcons going 3 for 5 with a double and RBI. His performance on the mound overshadowed his offensive numbers, as he pitched a nine inning complete game shutout, giving up only 7 hits and striking out 7. The win was Wilson's sixth of the year without a loss.

Matt Accardi was 2 for 4 with a first inning home run, the only run that Wilson needed.

Eric Hink also contributed a homered in the 8^th inning.

The Falcons' win places them in a best of three district tournament with the Region XX representative.
