Lackawanna Splits Region Doubleheader

Lackawanna College's Baseball team split a doubleheader played at County Field, Moscow, Pennsylvania by winning the first game 8-5 and then falling to County College of Morris 6-4 in the night cap.

In the first game the Falcons rallied from a 3 run deficit in the 5th inning as they batted through the lineup in the that inning on their way to scoring 6 runs.

The Falcons were led by Eric Hink, who went 2 for 2 while recording a Stolen Base and  2 runs scored; and Sam Parente, who had a 2 fo3 day with a run scored and a RBI. Both John Peluso and Steve Aniska contributed to the victory with 2 RBI's each.

Cody Patton held the Titans scoreless over the last 3 innings for the victory.

In the night cap Jon Wilson had a 2 for 4 day including a double and run score. Matt Accardi contributed with his 4th home run of the season, while Matt Mortel legged out a triple on a ball that just missed going out of the ball park.

Lackawanna's split improved their record to 31-10 overall and 8-3 in Region XIX play. The Falcon's had a ½ game lead in Region XIX Division II play prior to the start of today's contests.

Weather permitting; Lackawanna next plays Monday at home in a single game against Sussex CC. This contest is a make up of the game lost to rain on April 16th.
