Lackawanna College Improves Region Record to 6-2 with Twin Bill Sweep

Lackawanna College improved their Region XIX record to 6-2 with a twin bill sweep of Mercer County CC in games played Saturday at County Field.

In the first game, The Lackawanna continued their recent hitting barrage as five Falcons had a multi hit game. Cory Fassant went 4 for 5 with a double, 2 RBI's and a run score; Erik Hink continued his hot hitting with a 4 for 4 day including an RBI and run scored; Matt Frei was 2 for 4 with a solo home run, his 9th of the year; Sam Parente had a 2 for 4 game with a double and RBI; Finally Rob Lessig tripled and homered in contributing 3 RBI's.

Dan Winnie was the winning pitcher inproving his record to 3-1. Winnie pitched 6 innings and stuck out 6 in the win. Cody Patton entered the game in the 7th to conserve the win.

The second game was a 1-0 contest through 4 and 1/2 innings. In the bottom of the 5th, Eric Hink led off the inning with a single and moved to second on a fielder's choice. Hink scored from second as he took advantage of a misplayed throw from third to first to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. It was all Lackawanna for the rest of the game as they scored 4 more runs in the 6th to claim a 6-0 victory

In the night cap, Hink had another multi hit game going 3 for 3 with a stolen base and 2 runs scored. Matt Accardi went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's; Sam Parente dublicated his first game hit totals with another 2-4 game; while Rob Lesseg stayed hot with his second 2 fo3 game of day, adding another RBIto give him 4 for the day.

Kyle Miller improved his win -loss record to 4-0 in pitching a 7 inning 2 hit shut out. Miller also improved his ERA which was .450 at the beginning of the contes.
