Falcons Win Two in South Carolina
After losing 6 games to inclement weather, Lackawanna College’s Baseball Team returned to field Saturday, March 13, 2010, and made the most of it. In two contests played at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC, Lackawanna beat Montgomery CC 14-3 and Camden CC 11-0.
In the first game against Montgomery, Matt Accardi went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs, Matt Frei went 2 for 3 with a two-run home run and 2 RBIs while Steve Aniska knocked in four runs going 3 for 4 with a triple. The winning pitcher was Jordan Gottshall , who gave up 3 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings while striking out 9.
In the second game against Camden, winning pitcher Dan Winnie struck out 11 in 5 innings giving up only 1 hit. Leading the Falcons in hitting were Jon Wilson who was with a two-run home run, Eric Hink was 2 for 3 with a single and triple, Matt Frei with was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs on a double and home run and Matt Mortel was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI.
