    Newtown, PA – Thursday night the Lackawanna College Basketball team used a double-double by Nikhi Barnes and a second half three-point explosion by J’von Winslow to beat Bucks County Community College 84-77. Barnes double-double consisted of 16 points, and 12 rebounds. He combined 14 of those 16 with the 7 second half three-pointers contributed by Winslow to spark Lackawanna to their 4th conference win without a loss.

    Yuma AZ – Lackawanna Football and an Arizona Bowl Game are perfect ingredients for an exciting football contest. In 2006, the Falcons won the Valley of the Sun Bowl 17-16 on a 50-yard field goal with no time on the clock. Two years ago, while participating in their second Valley of the Sun Bowl game, they lost to Mesa Community College 48-42 in double overtime. Today, with a 7-point lead in the closing minutes, the Falcon defense stopped a potential game tying Arizona Western drive to clinch a 17-10 El Toro Bowl.
  • Lackawanna beats Sullivan in OT on Wooten’s Foul Shot

    Loch Sheldrake, NY: Friday night, the women’s basketball teams from Lackawanna College and Sullivan County Community College played an exciting back and forth game which ended in a 77-77 tie at the end of regulation. In overtime, the tenor of game didn’t change as both teams came into the last 2-seconds of the first overtime tied at 89-89. At that point in the contest, Sophomore, Chyna Wooten, while driving the base line to take a last second shot, was fouled with 01.6 on the clock. The tension built when Wooten missed her first foul shot. However, she wasn’t going allow this contest to go into a second OT, as she buried her second shot to give the Falcons a 90-89 lead that Sullivan could not overtake.

Wrestling in four team matches, the Falcons split, winning its bouts with Keystone College, 40-17 and Camden County College, 40-6. Their two losses were to Central (Iowa) 45-0 and Washington and Jefferson 33-22.
